Meet your pastor.
Pastor Gunkel.
Lead Pastor · The Potter's House Stafford
Before stepping behind the pulpit, Pastor Gunkel served in the United States Marine Corps — a background that still shapes how he leads, preaches, and shows up for this community.
He and his wife Allison have spent years building this church alongside the people of Stafford County, with a focus on plain-spoken preaching, family ministry, and making sure no one walks in feeling like an outsider.
[BIO TO BE EXPANDED BY PASTOR — years married, ministry history, what brought the family to Stafford, the moment the church started.]
[BIO TO BE EXPANDED BY PASTOR — what Pastor wants visitors to know about him in their first thirty seconds.]
Built by locals, for locals.
The Potter's House Stafford was started for one simple reason: Stafford County needed a real church. Not a production. Not a brand. A place where people could walk in honest about where they were and walk out with somewhere to stand. [HISTORY TO BE EXPANDED — founding year, where services first met, original families.]
From a handful of families to the church it is today, the mission hasn't changed: preach the Bible plainly, serve our neighbors well, and raise the next generation in something that will hold up. [GROWTH STORY TO BE EXPANDED — key seasons, the Frontier launch, partnerships in Stafford.]
We're a church for Marines and single moms, for families that have been here for generations and the ones who just unpacked a moving truck. If you're nearby, you're already invited.
